ABOUT Amanda A. Simpson

Amanda Simpson is a Principal in the Orlando, Florida, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Ms. Simpson helps employers prevent and resolve workplace disputes.

Ms. Simpson helps employers by giving advice on the full spectrum of the employment relationship, from hiring and promotions to disciplinary action and terminations. In addition to advice and counsel, Ms. Simpson defends employers before state and federal administrative agencies and in arbitrations and courts throughout the United States with respect to claims involving discrimination, breach of contract, retaliation, harassment, wrongful discharge and state and federal wage and hour disputes. Ms. Simpson frequently speaks on a variety of workplace related issues, including wage and hour compliance and class and collective actions.

Ms. Simpson is part of the firm’s Class Actions and Complex Litigation and Wage and Hour Practice Groups. Ms. Simpson defends against numerous complex wage and hour class and collective actions, including claims of off the clock work and misclassification. Ms. Simpson has also worked with a number of clients on Department of Labor audits as well as voluntary self-audits as to the exemption status of hundreds of positions.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Ms. Simpson practiced commercial litigation in Orlando and South Florida in federal, state, and appellate courts covering a vast number of practice areas, including employment litigation. Ms. Simpson has successful trial and appellate experience both in the state and federal court levels.
