Bill Gausewitz

Bill Gausewitz represents clients with legislative, administrative, and regulatory issues. He has more than 20 years of experience drafting and backing California state legislation and serving in a number of prominent positions within the Legislature, including within the U.S. House of Representatives, the California State Assembly, and the California State Senate. He has specific experience drafting legislation concerning the insurance and title insurance industries. Bill has deep experience regarding insurance legislation and regulation in both the California state government and in private practice. Bill’s firsthand knowledge of the law and regulatory processes, gained from participating in the rewriting of the California regulations on title insurance and drafting multiple insurance regulations, gives him keen insight, which he puts to use to help clients seek necessary approvals from the Department of Insurance in all aspects of title insurance regulation. Bill also brings to bear his experience as the prior Director of the California Office of Administrative Law (OAL), which supervises the implementation of the California Administrative Procedures Act.
