ABOUT Brett Lawrence
Brett Lawrence is an Associate in our office in Charlotte, North Carolina, and he concentrates his practice on a wide array of data privacy and security matters.
Before joining HBS, Brett was a law clerk to the Honorable Lucy Inman of the North Carolina Court of Appeals in Raleigh where here drafted opinions, edited co-clerks’ opinions and advised North Carolina Court of Appeals judge on numerous cases involving estate law, use permits and auto insurance policies. He also served as a legal intern to the Honorable Loren A. Smith of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C.
Earlier in his career, he was a research assistant to Professor Timothy C. MacDonnell of Washington and Lee University School of Law, and a legal intern in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office.
Brett earned a Juris Doctorate from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he was Managing Editor of the Washington and Lee Law Review and the brief winner and oral advocacy semifinalist in the John W. Davis Appellate Advocacy Competition. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance at Florida Atlantic University.
