ABOUT Carolyn B. DiGiovanni

As a member of the Health Care Department, Carolyn focuses her practice in the defense of medical malpractice actions. She represents hospitals, physicians, physician assistants and nurses. She also provides representation to various medical personnel who were involved as fact witnesses.

Carolyn handles cases from inception to trial, including: conducting all relevant discovery, taking depositions, analyzing medical issues, retaining and discussing medical issues with various medical experts in the preparation of the defense, performing medical literature research and analyzing for the defense of the case, advising and counseling clients as to the strengths and weaknesses of the overall defense, and negotiating settlements.

Graduating first in her class, Carolyn earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from Villanova University in 1984 and received the Dean's Award for General Excellence. She received her juris doctor in 1987 from Villanova University School of Law. Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Carolyn is admitted to appear before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and Delaware County Bar Associations.
