ABOUT Douglas M. Egbert
Douglas M. Egbert is a Principal in the Sacramento, California office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on employment litigation. He also provides clients with advice and counsel to avoid litigation and/or to put the company in the best defense-position possible should litigation arise.
Mr. Egbert represents clients in both California and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies including the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Department of Labor Standards Enforcement, and the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Mr. Egbert’s experience spans all phases of a case, from responding to pre-litigation demands and administrative charges, to developing a discovery and summary judgment strategy to best meet client goals, to advocating for employers at trial or arbitration. He is particularly experienced and successful in handling a wide variety of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.
Prior to attending to law school, Mr. Egbert worked as a human resources professional. This experience provided him with the unique ability to connect with and understand the human resources personnel he works with in litigation.
While attending law school, Mr. Egbert served as a UC Davis Moot Court Board Member, and wrote the moot court problem for the 2009 UC Davis Annual Asylum and Refugee Law National Moot Court Competition. He also received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in civil procedure.
