ABOUT Edward M. Cherof

Edward M. Cherof is a Principal in the Atlanta, Georgia, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He is also the co-leader of the firm’s Workplace Training Practice Group.

Since joining the firm in 1986, Mr. Cherof has represented employers in all aspects of labor and employment law and litigation. He has extensive experience providing employers with strategic advice relating to union organizing and in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. He also regularly assists clients in addressing the full scope of employment law matters, including those arising under federal and state fair employment laws.

Mr. Cherof advises clients extensively in all areas of the preventive practice, including employee discipline, layoffs, wage and hour matters, human resource policies, drug testing and disability management. He frequently lectures on labor and employment law developments before professional and business organizations. In 2006, Mr. Cherof was named one the Top One Hundred Labor Lawyers in the U.S. by the Labor Relations Institute.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Cherof worked as a labor relations and human resources manager for Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems. He has also served as in-house labor and employment law counsel at Delta Air Lines. He spends his leisure time playing piano in several bands that appear regularly in the Atlanta area.
