Elizabeth M. Conn focuses her practice on counseling and defending clients regarding a variety of general liability, product liability, and toxic tort matters. With more than five years of experience in toxic tort, Lisa represents Fortune 500 companies in complex toxic tort and product liability litigation, and has represented clients in claims under the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA). She is involved in all stages of litigation, from inception through trial and appeal.

Lisa’s experience also includes handling matters involving wrongful termination, federal tax fraud, securities fraud, claims under the False Claims Act, and shareholder disputes regarding executive severance. She has litigated matters spanning tobacco, environmental cleanup, and pharmaceutical patents.

Experience Highlights

Asbestos

Lisa has litigated numerous asbestos matters focusing on friction products including chrysotile, and has represented some of the world’s most recognizable automobile and truck manufacturers, working closely with the clients, their national settlement counsel, and discovery counsel to achieve the best possible results. She has handled dozens of asbestos cases from inception through trial verdict, including preparing all responses to pleadings, dispositive motions, and motions to compel discovery; prepping experts for testimony and taking expert depositions; strategizing on motion practice and the use of experts; handling investigations and developing alternative exposure defenses; and strategizing on settlements and settlement packaging.

Lisa’s experience also covers talc asbestos exposure and benzene exposure; representative matters include taking to verdict a trial involving stand-by exposure to an asbestos mine located outside Coalinga, California, and representing a major railway company in multiple Federal Employers Liability Act (The FELA) asbestos matters involving both chrysotile and crocidolite exposure.
