Eric David Sachs

Originally from New Jersey, Steinger, Iscoe & Greene attorney Eric Sachs earned his BA from Northwestern University, studying Spanish Literature, after which he attended law school at the University of Miami where he met his wife. Earning his law degree in 1988, Mr. Sachs returned to New Jersey to practice, being admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1989 and then the Florida Bar in 1990. After just a few years spent in the cold, Eric and his family decided to move back down to Miami and have been here since 1993.

Mr. Sachs attributes becoming a lawyer to his father, his grandfather and uncle, all of whom practiced law. Eric made the decision to become a personal injury attorney after working at insurance defense firms in Miami early in his career. Helping insurance companies preserve their assets and withhold money from truly injured victims was not something he could support long-term.

Eric’s true gratification came when he made the switch to advocate for those victims in their time of hardship and need becoming a plaintiff personal injury attorney. Thanks to the time he spent initially defending insurance companies, Eric has valuable insight that greatly benefits the outcomes for injured clients on whose behalf he advocates. In his own words, Mr. Sachs shares, “Many personal injury victims often do not know their rights to medical treatment after an auto accident. I get a real sense of satisfaction when I tell them that they can receive medical treatment and I will help them recover more than just their medical bills — I am here to help them get every dollar they truly deserve in order to be able to get their lives back on track. One of my fondest professional moments came when an elderly Romanian client was so overjoyed with the settlement we had achieved for her that when the holidays came around, she actually came to my office to bring me a holiday gift as her way of showing her appreciation, since she did not speak English.”

Eric is a standing member of the Florida and New Jersey Bars as well as the Broward County Bar and Miami Dade Justice Associations. He contributes to the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation and is active with the West Broward YMCA.
