ABOUT Gregory M. Lefkowitz
practices in all areas of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyright law. He represents clients in a variety of industries and technologies, including light emitting diode (OLED) companies, publishers, flavor and fragrance producers, tool and tool accessory manufacturers, food producers and distributors, cosmetics manufacturers, dental implant and prosthetic producers, refractory material suppliers, and liquid bandages and chronic wound treatment developers.
Mr. Lefkowitz has performed detailed assessments of patent validity, infringement and enforceability issues for litigation matters, and has also counseled clients and drafted opinions in both litigation and pre-litigation scenarios. He has represented clients in a wide range of intellectual property litigation matters at all levels of the Federal court system, as well as appeals and Inter Partes Reviews before the U.S. Patent Office.
Mr. Lefkowitz has secured hundreds of patents-both domestically and internationally-for clients in a variety of technologies, including chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, and biotechnology. Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Lefkowitz was a research scientist at Kimberly-Clark Corporation, where he led teams developing material and chemical technologies and was a co-inventor of five patents.
Mr. Lefkowitz has helped companies in the selection of trademarks as well as the protection and enforcement of trademark portfolios and related rights. He also assists companies in the transfer and licensing of intellectual property rights both individually and as part of large transactions, such as mergers and asset purchase agreements.
Mr. Lefkowitz is a 2006 graduate of the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, where he received high honors and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He also holds a B.S. with honors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida.
