ABOUT Iulia Taranu
Iulia Taranu is an associate in WSHB’s Phoenix office, focusing her practice on employment and labor law, commercial and business litigation, and complex commercial litigation. Iulia also assists our national insurance coverage practice by advising and representing domestic and international insurers on first-party property (Homeowner’s and Commercial), commercial general liability, construction defect, and professional errors and omission claims. She has successfully litigated a wide variety of claims, including interpretation of policy provisions, contract claims, quantum disputes and extra-contractual claims.
In addition to her litigation skills, Iulia is also experienced in handling transaction matters involving real estate, land use and entitlement matters, as well as corporate governance. As a Romanian immigrant who moved to the United States at a young age, Iulia’s experiences with different cultures has provided her with a unique intuition and knowledge, which she uses to better serve our clients.
While in law school, Iulia earned a number of achievements. This includes the coveted CALI Excellence Award and recognition for the Highest Pro Bono Distinction for her service to the community. Iulia was an extern for the Arizona Justice Project and completed two semesters with the Arizona State Law School’s Post-Conviction Clinic, where she assisted with two cases of wrongful conviction and manifest injustice in Arizona.
