ABOUT James Ingoglia
Jim Ingoglia practices in Conway Farrell’s General Liability and Trial Practice division, litigating various defense matters, including construction accident, construction defect, personal injury, products liability, dram shop, and property damage claims, as well as commercial litigation and employment law matters. He has also handled successful appeals in the First and Second Departments of the Appellate Division of New York Supreme Court.
Prior to joining the firm, Jim practiced at a multistate insurance defense firm where he represented major insurance carriers in an array of defense matters. He also spent five years at the Long Island office of a small litigation firm, co-leading that firm’s civil litigation department as a partner. His prior experience has also included work as: Counsel at a New York litigation boutique dealing with complex commercial and insurance matters; an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the New York City Law Department’s Affirmative Litigation Unit handling additional insured and other plaintiff side litigation; an Associate at the Manhattan offices of an international law firm practicing commercial litigation and international arbitration; and a law clerk for a U.S. Magistrate Judge.
A Long Island native and graduate of Chaminade High School, Jim also enjoyed a prior career as a high school science teacher at an all-girls private high school in Queens and an ESL teacher in Kawasaki, Japan. Jim has continued his education experience as an instructor since 2011 in the Paralegal Studies Program at Hofstra University, teaching a number of courses, including Contracts, Civil Litigation, Business Organizations, and Insurance Law. He also sits on the Board of Directors of a Brooklyn-based non-profit ballet school for Russian dance.
