Jeffrey W. Greene

Jeffrey Greene is a shareholder in the Litigation Practice in the firm’s Boston office and is Co-Chair of the firm’s global eDiscovery & eRetention Practice. Co-Chair of the Boston Litigation Department, Jeff is an experienced trial lawyer who focuses his practice on litigation and investigations that involve complex legal, factual and data management issues. Jeff has served as eDiscovery/information governance counsel for more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies, responsible for coordinating the overall strategy for records retention as well as for preservation, collection, review and production of ESI in thousands of state and federal lawsuits as well as government investigations. He also provides non-litigation counseling on compliance, information governance, cyber-security, data privacy and eDiscovery issues.

Jeff has experience in a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including products liability, technology, and tort law. His clients include companies in the automotive (OEM, tier 1, 2 and 3), retail, manufacturing, technology, medical device and pharmaceutical industries. He handles all phases of litigation and has tried complex cases in both federal and state courts, as well as in proceedings before administrative bodies and in domestic and international arbitrations.

Jeff represents a variety of clients in the health care, pharmaceutical, and pharmacy industries who are facing government investigations and/or Congressional inquiries. He directs internal investigations in all types of government and regulatory compliance matters including regularly advising clients on potential violations involving health care fraud, the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Anti-Inducement Law, the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and HIPAA privacy and security.

For his automotive clients, Jeff regularly provides training and education on emerging legal issues critical to the automotive industry. Jeff has represented auto industry clients in state and federal courts in a variety of commercial legal matters and regularly consults on emerging technology issues, such as autonomous driving, helping clients navigate the unique challenges and opportunities these technologies present. Jeff regularly provides counseling on compliance issues relating to Big Data and data privacy, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Electronic Communications Privacy Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and the Video Privacy Protection Act. Jeff also counsels clients on data security preparedness and governance as well as data breach response matters.
