ABOUT Jody Wilner Moran
Jody Wilner Moran is a Principal in the Chicago, Illinois, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She represents employers in trial, appellate, and administrative proceedings throughout the Midwest involving a broad range of substantive employment law issues.
Ms. Moran has successfully assisted countless clients in handling their employment issues in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa and Michigan, including litigating wrongful discharge cases; managing discrimination cases; counseling employers on challenging employment issues; mediating cases to settlement; conducting investigations; representing employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other federal and state agencies; advising management on employment relations and wage-hour issues; drafting and revising employee handbooks; and negotiating severance agreements.
Ms. Moran is extremely knowledgeable in the area of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act, and brings sophisticated, yet easy to understand advice on handling and defending against sexual harassment claims. From helping clients analyze options and making recommendations on how to handle employee relations issues, to representing clients in complex discrimination cases, Ms. Moran always provides creative solutions and passionate advocacy for her clients.
In addition to her counseling and litigation duties, Ms. Moran frequently provides on-site training seminars for employers on how to formulate and enforce effective personnel policies to avoid and minimize employee lawsuits. She has presented seminars involving employment law at a host of local, state, and national conferences where she receives kudos for her engaging and entertaining presentations.
Before joining Jackson Lewis in 2004, Ms. Moran was a founding partner of the Chicago boutique labor and employment law firm Connelly Sheehan Moran. Ms. Moran has been a lecturer at Chicago-Kent School of Law, has written articles for legal publications, and has given seminars on employment law matters.
