Jonathan H. Becker

Jonathan Becker is a Shareholder in the firm’s Government Law & Policy practice. He has nearly two decades of experience working at the intersection of law, policy, and politics. With a deep understanding of privacy and antitrust policy, Jonathan helps his clients develop and execute complex public policy advocacy strategies in Congress and in executive branch agencies including the FCC, the FTC, and the Department of Justice. He also guides clients through congressional investigations and the process of testifying before congressional committees.

Before joining Greenberg Traurig, Jonathan worked in government relations for a major U.S. airline and in all three branches of the federal government, including positions in the Senate, the White House, and the Department of Justice Antitrust Division. On Capitol Hill, Jonathan spent six years working for Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), first as Chief Counsel and then as Chief of Staff. In that capacity, he advised the Senator on her work as a member of the Judiciary and Commerce Committees and provided guidance on policy issues including technology, telecommunications, intellectual property, media, and transportation.

Jonathan began his legal career as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, following his graduation from the University of Chicago Law School.
