Joseph C. Tarpine III

Joseph C. Tarpine III defends employers, insurers, self-insured employers, and municipalities in workers’ compensation claims throughout Maryland and in the District of Columbia. His clients range from locally owned establishments to multinational corporations, and include small businesses, municipalities, Boards of Education, hospitals, hotels, construction companies, pharmaceutical companies, food service companies, and assisted living facilities. He represents them at hearings and in jury trials before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission, the District of Columbia Office of Workers’ Compensation, the District of Columbia Administrative Hearings Division, the District of Columbia Compensation Review Board, as well as before the Maryland Court of Appeals, the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. With a record of over 100 jury trials and experience handling complex matters-including mold and chemical exposure claims-Joe regularly wins verdicts that set precedents favorable to his clients and their industries.

Before entering private practice, Joe earned valuable trial experience working for the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office. He gained additional experience as a law clerk for the New Jersey Superior Court, where he gained behind-the-bench insights into the legal process and judicial decision-making.
