Kayla L. Barnett

Kayla is an Associate in the firm's Fort Lauderdale office and a member of the Professional Liability department. She focuses her practice in the area of first party property insurance defense representing insurance companies in matters concerning property claims, insurance coverage and bad faith issues.

Kayla received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and Psychology from Florida State University in 2011. She then went on to earn her juris doctor from Florida A&M University College of law in 2015. While in law school, Kayla served as a domestic violence legal extern within Florida A&M Univeristy's College of Law legal clinic. She also interned with the Office of the State Attorney, and served as an in-house legal clerk for two Fortune 500 companies, focusing on both transactional and litigation matters.

Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Kayla represented various insurance carriers in first and third party insurance matters.
