Keith K. Ybanez

Keith Ybanez is senior counsel in the Chicago office, where he focuses his practice on commercial litigation, insurance coverage, product liability, professional liability, subrogation, employment disputes, and general liability defense. He represents firm clients at the state and federal level, and is well-versed in conducting fact and expert discovery, defending depositions, drafting dispositive and evidentiary motions, and negotiating favorable resolutions. He also has experience advising and defending public and governmental entities-including cities, townships, and municipalities-in a variety of legal matters. Keith is dedicated to working closely with clients in order to assess and analyze risk, while executing appropriate and cost-effective strategies for all phases of litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Keith attended Pepperdine University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor and a Certificate in International and Comparative Law in 2014. During law school, he served as Production Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review, participated in a London-based moot court competition, and spent time in South America providing advocacy support for victims of domestic violence. Keith also clerked in the Civil Appeals Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Illinois, where he worked on appellate cases involving constitutional law, administrative law, and tax law. Prior to law school, Keith spent a year volunteering in the Amazon basin of Peru, and also studied Communication Theory at La Sierra University.

In 2019 - 2020, Super Lawyers recognized Keith as a top-rated insurance coverage attorney in Chicago, earning him the designation of “Rising Star.”
