L. Joyelle Maini

Joy practices in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, taxation, elder law, and municipal pension planning. She assists clients with their estate planning goals to ensure that assets are left to family members and to achieve tax planning for high-net worth individuals. Joy assists clients in administration of estates and trusts in Connecticut probate courts. She also litigates will contests, conservatorships and other trust and estates issues in Connecticut probate courts and works to negotiate settlements in contested matters on behalf of fiduciaries and beneficiaries.

In her elder law practice, Joy guides clients in asset preservation planning and transfer of assets, as well as prepares Medicaid applications. She works with clients to get Medicaid approval by the Connecticut Department of Social Services.

Joy represents municipal and corporate clients in drafting pension plan documents and with plan administration. She also works with families who have businesses in their business planning, including aiding with forming business entities and drafting agreements for the entities. Additionally, Joy collaborates with nonprofit organizations to form business entities and attain tax-exempt status for those entities with the Internal Revenue Service. Joy regularly assists nonprofit organizations with operational issues.

Joy regularly meets with clients at all of the Firm’s branches and is fluent in Italian.
