Laura Pinkerton

Laura is an associate in the Personal Injury Protection (PIP) department of the Fraud/Special Investigation Practice Group. Laura's primary area of practice is in resolving PIP disputes within the state of Florida. Laura also has experience in civil defense handling matters involving premises liability, professional liability and construction defect.

In 2013, Laura earned her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, with a focus in the behavioral sciences and humanities; and a minor in Art History. Laura then attended Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, where she received her J.D. in 2018, graduating magna cum laude. Laura was a Senior Associate on the Stetson Law Review, serving as the Alumni Chair where she earned the distinction of Outstanding Associate in Fall 2017.

Laura was active in the intramural sports community, serving as the Intramural Soccer Co-chair her 2L and 3L years. Laura also participated in both legal and non-legal pro bono activities and performed legal research for the National Clearinghouse for Science and Technology, digesting criminal cases related to various scientific fields so that they were accessible and understandable for pro se litigants. Laura also performed legal pro-bono work with Florida Gulfcoast Legal Services; assisting individuals in the areas of family law. Finally, in her third year, Laura earned the prestigious Victor O. Wehle Award for excellence in trial advocacy.

During law school, Laura worked a summer law clerk at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, P.C. in Tampa, Florida where she gained experience in the fields of professional liability and general liability. Laura also worked as a law clerk at a Medicare supplemental insurance company, where she gained experience in Healthcare and Insurance law; working alongside the general counsel to ensure compliance with the various administrative codes and federal laws governing healthcare. Outside of the legal world, Laura is an avid supporter of English soccer team Liverpool F.C. When she’s not biting her fingernails watching a premier league or champion’s league match, she enjoys biking, playing soccer, playing music, and painting.

Laura is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and the Middle District of Florida.
