Mary Jane Perry

Mary J. Perry joined the firm in June 2015. She has 27 years of legal experience. Mary grew up in a working class family in a small town in rural western Tennessee. Through academic achievements and hard work, she was first in her high school and college classes, and she graduated from Harvard Law School in 1988.

Mary spent the first portion of her legal career working as a commercial litigator. She represented corporate clients in complex business disputes, construction litigation, class actions, antitrust cases, banking and financial litigation.

In 1998, Mary decided to get back to the core values and beliefs which had led her to becoming a lawyer in the first place, and she became a plaintiff’s personal injury attorney. Never looking back on or regretting this decision, Mary has focused on serious personal injuries, wrongful death, nursing home abuse, medical malpractice, and other catastrophic injuries. Mary brought into her personal injury work her knowledge of corporate structure and operation, and she was often able to show courts and juries how selfish corporate practices and decisions could lead to business practices which caused personal harm and injury to innocent people. Her work has taken her to many different states and areas of the country, and she is accustomed to extensive travel and working on difficult and challenging cases. She was the first attorney in Mississippi to obtain a nursing home verdict of 7 million dollars in a county which had never seen a verdict in a civil case in excess of 1 million dollars. She repeatedly obtained record settlements for clients who had often been turned away by other attorneys and firms.

Mary is currently working in the firm’s litigation section where she files, prosecutes, and tries lawsuits involving motor vehicle and trucking accidents, serious slip and falls, premises liability, and wrongful death. She remains tireless in the pursuit of justice for her clients.
