ABOUT Matthew A. Porter

Matthew A. Porter is a Principal and the Office Litigation Manager in the Boston, Massachusetts, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He concentrates his practice exclusively on employment litigation and counseling.

Mr. Porter routinely advises employers on a wide variety of employment law issues, including allegations of unlawful discrimination, employee discipline and discharge, disability management, reductions in force, non-competition agreements, and litigation under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. He also has extensive class action experience.

Mr. Porter has substantial trial experience, and appears frequently in state and federal courts in employment-related litigation. He also defends employers in administrative proceedings at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and other state human rights agencies. Mr. Porter has litigated extensively in many different state and federal courts throughout the United States. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Porter was a partner with a prominent international law firm.

While at Boston University, Mr. Porter was elected Executive Editor of the Boston University Law Review and received numerous awards for outstanding academic achievement.
