ABOUT Michelle L. Locey
Michelle Locey chose to become a family law specialist after working in major corporate law firm after law school. Since joining Kuder, Smollar & Friedman in 2005, she has been able to apply her broader knowledge to traditional family law issues. A skilled researcher and writer, Ms. Locey taught legal research and writing and introduction to advocacy at The George Washington University’s Law School from 2007 to 2009. Ms. Locey graduated from The George Washington University Law School with high honors. While in law school, Ms. Locey participated in the Family and Civil Litigation clinic, representing low-income clients in divorce and child custody matters, and volunteered in the Family Court Self-Help Center at the D.C. Superior Court. Also while in law school. Ms. Locey honed her legal research and writing skills as an intern in the chambers of the Honorable Thomas F. Hogan, then Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. In October, 2011, Ms. Locey completed comprehensive training in Collaborative Process and looks forward to utilizing the skills she learned to better serve the firm's clients.
