Mr. Howard S. Kohn

A Raleigh native, Howard received his undergraduate degree from Duke University (A. B. English, 1977) and his law degree from Washington University (J. D., 1980) after attending third year classes at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a visiting student. He has practiced law, with an emphasis in real property, in Raleigh, from 1981 until the present, the last twelve years as a sole practitioner.

His practice concentrates on residential and commercial real estate “closings”, the term used both for transferring title to real property from seller to buyer and pledging title to real property as security for loan financing. He also represents builders, subcontractors, and developers for all of their transactional needs.

Howard is also a contributing member of the North Carolina Bar Real Estate Section and North Carolina Association of Realtors Joint Forms Commitee, which is responsible for shaping the legal documents used in most North Carolina Real Estate Transactions.

His newest practice area involves consulting for and representation of planned community associations, in conjunction with his property management affiliate, Kohn-Ell Association Management Services, LLC.

In 2007 the firm relocated to Millbrook West Office Condominiums, 205 West Millbrook Road, Suite 210, in the heart of Raleigh’s prime residential real estate corridor.
