ABOUT Mr. Richard 'Wells' Littlefield III

Wells Littlefield is an Associate in our office in Brunswick, Georgia, and he focuses his practice on professional negligence and medical malpractice, health care, dental, insurance coverage and general liability matters.

A native of St. Simons Island on the coast of Georgia, Wells is a former Air Force officer and combat veteran who brings more than 15 years of combined experience in law, management, and business to HBS. He has served as an assistant public defender in Brunswick, and he was a deputy general counsel and director of operations for a medicinal solutions startup.

Earlier in his career, Wells served as a project manager for air-based weapon systems and led an organization of over 70 individuals tasked with testing of a $1.2 billion command and control software system as an Air Force officer. He also served as a Judge Advocate General for more than five years, and provided guidance to Commanders and General Officers and practiced in a variety areas including criminal law, civil law, contracts, environmental law, regulatory law, medical law and estate planning.

While deployed to Afghanistan in 2012, he spearheaded and served as the lead officer to implement a bilateral international agreement between the United States and Afghanistan on the transfer of enemy combatant detainees to Afghan custody. He was awaded the Meritorious Service Medal and four Commendation Medals for his accomplishments.

Wells earned a Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2008. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Air Force Academy, where he received distinction as an Outstanding Graduate of the Legal Studies Department and was a varsity letter winner in soccer.
