ABOUT Ms. Emily Damsgaard Gladden
Emily Gladden joined the firm in 2015 after representing indigent clients as a Staff Attorney at The Bronx Defenders in New York City. Her practice focuses on criminal defense in state and federal courts.
During law school at UC Berkeley Law School, Emily worked at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office and the Contra Costa County Public Defender’s Office. She spent her law school summers at the Orleans Public Defenders Office in New Orleans and the Public Defender Service in Washington, D.C. Emily also participated in the Death Penalty Clinic and the Post-Conviction Advocacy Project, represented middle and high school students facing expulsion, and co-directed and participated in Juvenile Hall Outreach, which provided “Know Your Rights” trainings to juveniles in the Alameda County Juvenile Hall.
Prior to law school, Emily earned a master’s degree in Criminology from the University of Cambridge on a Gates Scholarship. Before studying in England, she worked for several years at Federal Defenders in the Eastern District of New York as a paralegal and paralegal supervisor.
Emily graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Williams College where she majored in English and Psychology.
