Ms. Kimberly A. Cook

Kimberly A. Cook is an accomplished trial lawyer with deep experience in specialty and catastrophic torts, who has taken more than 30 cases to verdict in Florida and around the country. With a practice covering product liability, professional liability, catastrophic injury, and other types of complex litigation, Kim has defended and served as trial counsel for medical professionals, health care facilities, manufacturers, and others.

Kim is an active member and leader in numerous legal organizations, including the invitation-only American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. She is also a Florida Supreme Court-certified mediator.

Experience Highlights

Health Care

Kim’s experience in medical malpractice and health care-related litigation is extensive. She has served as trial counsel for physicians, medical specialists, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, and other clients in complex personal injury, malpractice, and commercial matters. She has also represented health care providers in claims brought by the Florida Department of Health Administration.

In one recent representative matter, Kim obtained a defense verdict in a medical malpractice case involving a pediatric anesthesiologist sued when parents alleged their young child suffered brain damage after cardiac decompensation in an operating room.

Product Liability Commercial Litigation

Kim is also a trusted trial attorney in the realm of product liability and related commercial litigation. She currently serves as regional counsel for one of the country’s largest manufacturers of heavy equipment and has defended multiple corporations against product defect claims, mass and catastrophic injury claims, general liability matters, and commercial litigation. Her trial experience includes product liability actions involving construction, mining, and earth-moving machinery, as well as a wide variety of residential and commercial products.

In one recent representative matter, Kim obtained a complete defense jury verdict on behalf of the country’s largest manufacturer of water heaters in a trial involving five Virginia Tech students found unconscious from carbon monoxide poisoning in their apartment.
