ABOUT Rachel S. Kim
Rachel S. Kim is an Associate in the St. Louis, Missouri, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in discrimination, harassment, and retaliation matters, including matters arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Missouri Human Rights Act.
Ms. Kim also counsels employers with regard to state and federal employment laws, employee handbooks and personnel policies and practices, employment agreements, leave issues, and Equal Employment Opportunity training. Ms. Kim also has experience handling internal investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. Her practice encompasses the defense of employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies.
While attending law school, Ms. Kim refined her legal writing and advocacy skills. During her first year of law school, she was a member of the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Mock Trial Team. During her third year, she participated in a National Moot Court Competition. Ms. Kim also served as a teaching assistant in the first-year legal research and writing course and was an associate member of the Missouri Law Review, which published her article examining the Eighth Circuit’s decision on employers’ duty to accommodate employees with disabilities. Ms. Kim also developed her skills of effectively counseling clients as she worked in the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic, where she provided legal services, such as entity planning and formation, employee issues, governmental regulations and contract drafting, to small and start-up businesses.
