Sean T. Mims

Sean Mims is an attorney in the Columbus, Georgia office. He earned his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.

Sean is an AV rated attorney and his experience includes the handling all matters of litigation from pre-suit issues through trial and also through the appeal process. He focuses on the defense of corporations and insureds throughout the litigation process. He has experience in numerous areas of general liability, including defense of personal injury claims, premises liability claims, transportation, disputes regarding insurance coverage, bad faith claims, breach of contract actions, workers’ compensation claims, employment law claims, education issues, and business litigation. Sean has also assisted in the representation of various hospitals, doctors, and other medical providers for actions brought against them on the grounds of medical malpractice or professional negligence.

In the area of transportation, Sean has represented clients in both motor vehicle accidents and accidents involving common carriers. His experience includes defending the insured and insurers, providing opinions on loss coverage, apportionment among multiple carriers and policies, uninsured/underinsured motorist claims, special investigation claims, and levels of exposure.

Sean has litigated cases in front of juries, judges, arbitrators, and administrative law judges. He also has an active appellate practice and has handled appeals in Alabama and Georgia courts. He is admitted and licensed to practice in both the state and federal courts of Georgia and Alabama, including the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
