Shannon Bettis Nakabayashi

Shannon Bettis Nakabayashi is a Principal in the San Francisco, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She has extensive experience litigating employment matters in state and federal courts, before arbitrators and administrative agencies.

Ms. Bettis Nakabayashi regularly defends employers in statewide and nationwide wage and hour class, representative, and/or collective actions, including those brought under California’s complex and unique labor and employment laws.

Ms. Bettis Nakabayashi regularly counsels clients on wage and hour compliance and litigation avoidance, including compliance with local Bay Area ordinances. She also assists clients with employment and compensation issues that arise in the context of mergers and acquisitions. She is outside employment counsel to a number of non-profits.

Before joining Jackson Lewis, Ms. Bettis Nakabayashi was a member of the employment law practice at a national law firm, where she focused her practice in California and federal wage and hour counseling and litigation. She led employment teams on numerous complex corporate transactions. During law school, she was a Comments Editor for the University of San Francisco Law Review. She externed for the Hon. Ming W. Chin, Associate Justice, California Supreme Court.

Ms. Bettis Nakabayashi is a native of California’s Central Valley and a long time Bay Area resident.
