ABOUT Sharon Angelino
Sharon Angelino focuses her practice on complex insurance coverage, professional liability, commercial litigation, and general corporate law. A leader of the GIS New York Team, Sharon has more than 20 years of insurance coverage experience in both first-party and third-party claims. She has reviewed coverage issues in New York and throughout the Northeast, and she has served as national coverage counsel monitoring exposure and coverage issues for toxic tort claims for London insurers. She has served as coverage counsel to numerous underwriters and has a deep and nuanced understanding of their relationships with insurers in the Lloyds of London market and with London and U.S. brokers. In addition, Sharon serves a wide variety of corporate clients in a risk management capacity, identifying gaps in coverage and providing training. A New York State-certified insurance instructor, Sharon is a frequent presenter of insurance-related continuing education (CE) seminars.
Before becoming a lawyer, Sharon earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and an M.B.A., then worked for several years in the health care industry. Her unique blend of knowledge and experience gives her an exceptionally high degree of understanding regarding some of the most complex challenges facing her clients.

Insurance Coverage
Sharon has extensive experience with matters involving a wide range of insurance coverage areas, including general liability, additional insured status, excess liability, bad faith, reinsurance, toxic tort issues, errors and omissions liability, pollution and environmental claims, disability policies and health care policies. In the area of directors and officers liability, she has handled both coverage and defense matters. Additionally, she is experienced in managing run-off accounts and is well versed in the unique business challenges they present as well as mandates for dealing with run-off claims in litigation.
Risk Management
Sharon regularly assists the firm’s corporate clients by reviewing quotes and insurance programs for purposes of identifying risk management protocols and gaps in coverage. She also conducts training sessions related to complying with contractual insurance requirements, maintaining appropriate insurance documentation and tendering to insurers.
