Svetlana Walker

Svetlana Walker received her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, magna cum laude, from Baruch College in 2010. She then continued her education in human sciences, and, in 2011 she began working on her Master’s degree in Social Work at Stony Brook University.

During her first semester at the School of Social Welfare, she realized that she wanted to gain all the advantage she could to become the best advocate possible. As a result, she joined the dual-degree program between Stony Brook University and Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. In 2015, she graduated from both schools, summa cum laude, with Master’s degree in Social Work and Juris Doctor.

During the last year of law school, her academic excellence allowed her to be selected to participate in the Pro Bono Scholars Programs announced by Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman in his 2014 State of the Judiciary address. This program permitted her to take the Bar Exam in February 2015, prior to her May, 2015 graduation and to provide 500 hours of pro bono services to the underprivileged clients.

Svetlana graduated at the top of her class, and as a member of the Touro Law Review. She was admitted to the NYS Bar in June, 2015.
