Themis Klarides

THEMIS KLARIDES serves as of counsel to Cohen and Wolf, and is a member of the firm's Litigation and Bankruptcy Groups. She is resident in the firm's Orange office.

Ms. Klarides is currently serving her seventh term in the General Assembly representing the 114th Assembly District, the towns of Woodbridge, Orange and Derby. She was appointed Deputy Republican Leader for the 2007-09 term, and was reappointed to the post for the 2009-11 term. She served as Assistant Minority Leader during her previous two terms. Ms. Klarides also serves on the legislature's Appropriations, Judiciary, Executive and Legislative Nominations, and Legislative Management Committees and was formerly the Ranking Member of the Insurance and Real Estate Committee.

Ms. Klarides is admitted to the practice of law in Connecticut and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. She is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, the Connecticut Bar Association and the New Haven County Bar Association, and has been in private practice for 17 years, concentrating in litigation and bankruptcy.

In addition to her service as a State Representative, Ms. Klarides has volunteered her time with numerous community organizations including The Umbrella Domestic Violence Group, which works to assist victims of domestic violence and provides volunteer legal assistance to women and children at the shelter, the Advisory Board of Fairfield County Safe Kids and the Derby School Special Friends Program, a mentoring program for local elementary school students and Brothers/Big Sisters. In 2006, Ms. Klarides was appointed to the Board of Directors of Griffin Health Services and is a member of the Residency Advisory Committee of Griffin Hospital in Derby. She resides in Derby.

Ms. Klarides is a graduate of Trinity College and received her J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law.
