ABOUT Thomas L. Hunker
Mr. Hunker is a partner in the Fort Lauderdale West Office. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Appellate Practice and has served as lead counsel on hundreds of appeals and trial level cases.
Mr. Hunker has extensive experience at the appellate and trial levels in both state and federal courts and focuses his practice primarily on appeals, litigation support, class actions, insurance coverage and bad faith defense, and general civil litigation in a broad range of practice areas.
Before coming to CSK, Mr. Hunker successfully litigated cases as in-house counsel for a large insurance company and as a solo practitioner. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Hunker served as a judicial law clerk for the Florida Supreme Court and as a legislative intern for the Florida House of Representatives.
Mr. Hunker earned his law degree magna cum laude from the Florida State University College of Law and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. While in law school, he made the Dean’s List every semester, was awarded several scholarships, and received the highest grade in several classes. Mr. Hunker earned his undergraduate degree in business from Florida State University.
Mr. Hunker is peer review rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and 10 out of 10 on Avvo.com. Super Lawyers Magazine named Mr. Hunker as one of its Rising Stars for 2017 and 2018. He currently serves on the Florida Bar Appellate Board Certification Committee. He also serves as an attorney for Mission United providing pro bono legal services to military veterans. Mr. Hunker is a member of the Broward County Bar Association.
