Zachary M. Schwartz

Zachary Schwartz grew up in Denver before moving to California to attend the University of Southern California. After a short stint in sales, Zachary pursued his law degree at Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California. While at Chapman, Zachary competed on the school’s Moot Court and Mock Trial teams while also becoming a Senior Articles Editor for the Chapman Law Review. He also spent time in Chapman’s award winning Mediation Clinic working as a court mediator in the Riverside County Superior Court. Zachary graduated in 2012 and finished ranked second in his class.

Zachary started as an associate at Koeller, Nebeker, Carlson & Haluck, LLP in 2012 and he dove head first into the firm’s Government Tort Liability section, litigating cases on behalf of the County of Orange, while also occasionally assisting in construction defect cases. He has continued his representation of the County of Orange in a wide range of civil rights and employment matters and handles his own cases. With his writing skills, Mr. Schwartz has prevailed on many dispositive motions and several appeals, including in the Ninth Circuit. His deep understanding of complex legal issues allows for creative and strong legal arguments and persuasive writing. Zachary was elevated to Partner in 2018.

Zachary and his wife met while at USC and remain proud alumni. They had the Trojan Marching Band perform at their wedding. Zachary, his wife, and his son enjoy attending USC football games, going on walks and hikes with their dog, and going to Disneyland. Zachary also likes to golf with his friends and family.
